For BB&T Ballpark’s Knights Stadium, Elm Engineering provided the electrical engineering, lighting design, and full construction administration services for all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. The ballpark is located two blocks from Bank of America Stadium (home of the Carolina Panthers) in Charlotte, North Carolina. The park is designed to accommodate baseball and a multitude of other events, such as concerts, trade shows and receptions, and meetings. The stadium is LEED Certified.
The stadium was designed for optimal visibility of the game by all attendees and boasts a spectacular view of downtown Charlotte. In a 2015 poll conducted by Baseball America magazine, BB&T Knights Stadium was voted the best minor league baseball park by more than 100 minor league general managers, stadium announcers, league observers and others associated with baseball. Since opening day, it has had the highest average attendance of any minor league baseball stadium to date.
